Piano Lab

You know, I’ve had parents come in and ask, you know, how do you think my student’s going to do in a class setting? And often it’s because of two extremes. They either see their student as maybe easily distracted um or they see their student as a perfectionist. So, they want to know if they’re going to thrive in the group dynamic. And I think that the group piano classes are an opportunity for anyone, any student to come in and learn more about how to be successful. So if that student is a perfectionist and we can kind of find the place where they start to question themselves and where they are afraid of of failing, then we can help them understand and liberate that a little bit. Right? Let’s Let’s play for everyone every time you’re here and start to feel the safety of a mistake and the joy of sharing your music and see if we can really start to relax that part of their personality so that they can continue to maintain their really high standard but be a little kinder to themselves. and the students who are easily distracted. Well, again, you know, our classes are designed to break things up and to to present the information in ways that are going to work for different learning styles, but that are always changing the pace of the class a bit. But we also want those students to recognize, you know, look at look at what you did today. You actually got into a space where you were really committed to learning something new and to achieving it. And you weren’t distracted at all for those 10 minutes. and catching those moments so that we can see that, you know, some of these labels and definitions that we have about ourselves that are based in fact, they’re not necessarily completely out of left field, but they’re just a starting point. And you know, how we learn and how we grow in certain areas is it’s a it’s an opportunity to re-evaluate some of those limitations. And I think that what you’ll find here is a a really warm place where we do deeply care about every student’s journey. And you know, we don’t think it’s cookie cutter. We don’t think that every student is the same, but we do think that every student is going to have a point, a threshold where they struggle, where they’re challenged. Um, and that would be true whether it’s soccer or dance or algebra. Um, and we hope that we’ll be able to partner with your family and and learn and grow together through those moments. So, your student is welcome here and we’re excited to learn more about them. And if you’re interested in booking a call with me to talk more, please do. Um, I’ll tell you a little bit about the program and hopefully we’ll get you guys in here to try it out.
